Daniel Fast
2012: Day Seven
Dear
Family & Friends,
As Arden & I prayed and talked about
some of our goals for the fast this year, the above verse seemed to ring
out loud and clear. We desire to love the Lord with everything in us, and
as a result, those around us. One thing we do that helps us know and love
God better is simply acknowledging and thanking Him throughout various
times of the day. For example, when we are taking a walk together around
the neighborhood, we look up and marvel at the sky or trees and thank Him
for His creation. We also do this at every sunset, because we have
sliding doors that open to a deck looking out to the west. There is such
beauty in every sunset, and we take the time to acknowledge our Father,
the Creator of each one, thanking Him. This often leads to praise and
prayer/intercession, as we bask in His Spirit.
One thing we have done in the past to help others know and love God
better is open our home to our neighbors for dinner, or just a night of
fun and fellowship. By sharing a meal or playing a game with our
neighbors we can share the love of God in us with our neighbors and
create a loving, caring community on our block, or in our neighborhood.
We hope to do more of this in the coming year, so that we can continue to
build a network of friends within the family of God in our neighborhood.
God bless you as you continue to fast and seek His face during this
Daniel fast, 2012!
