White-hot Love!
Day Two: Daniel Fast 2013
Beloved of God,
Your heart is made for white-hot love, passionate love for God and deep compassion for others. When our hearts get luke-warm or even cold with indifference, then something is terribly wrong. God's Word teaches, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." Romans 12:11
So how can you become full of white-hot love for God? First, you must fully yield yourself to His kingly rule. Anything less is a form of idolatry which is toxic to the heart. Second, fast and pray, asking God to pour His Holy Spirit upon you and well up within you. Your Father in heaven always gives the Holy Spirit to them who ask. Lk. 11:11-13. Third, stop the leaks. Become spiritually self-aware enough to detect when your mind, heart, attitude, or actions are grieving the Spirit. Repent, renounce, forgive or get forgiven, make the corrections and head straight into God's Presence, through Christ.
William Booth, the bold witness and soul winner who started the Salvation Army, said, "Unless I go about my business of saving the souls of men with an ENERGY and a ZEAL almost amounting to madness, nobody will take any notice of me, much less believe what I say and make everlasting profit out of it!" He knew that the world had seen enough lukewarm, insincere, cold and dead so-called Christians, and that the only way to inspire and draw others to his message about the Lord was to show them the Life and Light of God by getting on Fire and "letting his light so shine"!
